This is how I look when I cooperate.

Just in case you were wondering, here's a picture of me looking at the camera:

I bet you like this picture better because you see my face and my big, topaz eyes.  My paws are pretty impressive, too, don't you think?  It looks like I have long fingers.  Actually, I have webbed feet.  Even though I'm a mutt, I am part Lab, and labs have webbed feet.  Back when dogs had to work for a living, labs had to swim out to retrieve ducks and other poor birds.  I am so lucky that I don't have to work for a living.  It's much easier laying on my couch and getting spoiled by my loving family.

Like I always say, appreciate the good life that you have.  Life is usually much better than you think it is.  Make sure to take a rest on the couch every day so you can have a happy outlook on life.  It is nice being such a cute and good-looking dog with an easy life.  Just remember, you have an easy life, too.  You just have to realize it.

Ho-hum - it's a boring day.

Life has been pretty boring around here these days.  It's raining out so my Mom didn't take me to the Dog Park.  I only went on a short walk this morning.  This is what I've been doing most of the day:

As if being bored wasn't boring enough, my Mom decided to take my picture.  Of course, I wouldn't look at the camera because it's boring being bored so I don't need to be annoyed on top of it.

Like I always say, some days are just going to be boring.  There's not much you can do about it so just take it easy and relax.  Actually, I don't mind relaxing, I just would prefer to relax outside in the sun in front of my house.  I guess you can't always get what you want so you have to make the best out of what you get.

Guess who's back!!!!

Well, I've noticed a BIG change when I look out my back door.  The bunnies are coming back!

I LOVE my bunnies!  I LOVE to bark at them and jump up and down because it's so exciting!  Here's what I don't understand - they just sit there like I'm invisible.  Do you think that they don't see me?  I mean, I'm a HUGE dog so there's no way they could miss me, and I don't think that they're deaf so they have to hear me.  I just don't get it, but it's OK because that just means I get to bark and jump up and down even MORE!  I don't want my family to miss out on the excitement so I'm sure that they're happy the bunnies are back, too.

Like I always say, be on the lookout for any exciting events.  It's always a BIG deal when a bunny appears, especially when there haven't been many lately.  I'm always ready to celebrate anything and everything so I'll be happy to see as many bunnies as possible.  Make sure to look in your yard, too.  I wouldn't want you to miss out on the excitement.

Introducing my buddy, Blake the Dog!

I do love going to the Dog Park and catching up with my dog buddies.  Of course, Moe the Dog, was there - he is the luckiest dog - he goes EVERY day!  That's a whole lot more than I get to go so I have to make the most of the time I do get at the Dog Park.

Today I got to catch up with an old friend, Blake the Dog:

Now I have known Blake for many years, and we have A LOT of fun together because we jump on each other - although I don't actually jump on Blake because I might crush him since I'm so much bigger.  I just  lay over him, and he wriggles around and escapes.  My favorite thing is to lay on my back and let Blake jump on my chest - it's much safer for both of us and LOTS of fun for me.

Most importantly, Blake and I trust each other and know that we would NEVER hurt each other.  We might play rough, but we know when to stop.  I would feel terrible if I ever hurt one of my good dog buddies.

Like I always say, have fun, but be careful at the same time.  You can never have enough fun as long as it's SAFE fun!

Dog Park Days Mean Fun!

My Mom hasn't been taking me to the Dog Park lately.  That's because she knows that I'll be rolling around in the mud and poop, and I got a bath recently.  Today was my lucky day, she said, "Who would like to go to the park?"

This is what I did:  I ran around in circles until I caught my tail.  I am one talented dog - I can actually catch my tail in my mouth.  My grandfather says that this is NOT normal for a dog.  Well, it certainly is for Gabi the Dog!

When I got to the park, I walked around in the trees and found a beautiful piece of poop.  I took this piece, laid it on the grass and rolled around on it.  I LOVE ROLLING AROUND IN POOP!  Of course, my Mom was not exactly delighted to she starting coming over to get me to stop.  She might have wanted to take away my poop, but don't worry, I ate it.  So, there, no more worries for my Mom - or at least, I would think so.

Then she kept rubbing snow all over me and telling me, "You're disgusting.  Why do I have a dog who rolls in poop and then eats it?"  She should be happy that I have a healthy appetite and a great stomach.  I don't even get sick after I eat poop, whereas other dogs probably do.

After the poop episode, I chased around some male dogs:

The dog in the front is Hunter, and he's being chased by Cody.  Make sure to notice that I'm the only GIRL dog at the park (this is often the case).  Luckily, I am able to take care of myself, and I can keep up with any dog - I'm just as fast and athletic as any boy dog.  Also, if I'm running with my dog buddies, my Mom can't annoyingly rub snow all over me.

Like I always say, when an opportunity knocks on your door, take advantage of the situation.  I'm always on the lookout for new adventures and new taste treats.  Plus, I love having fun!  Make sure to have some fun today, too by getting outside and running with your friends.  There's nothing like breathing in fresh air!

A Bath and More Bows!

Usually, I'm the first to COMPLAIN A LOT about getting a bath.  I mean, it's very uncomfortable to get picked up by Janet the Groomer, get plopped in a tub, get washed, get blow dried...You get the idea.  I'd rather roll around in poop than get clean.

Any way, this time, I said to myself, "I think I'll just try to enjoy my bath.  It's not really fun, but it's not the worst thing."  Plus, when I got home, I got treats:

Plus, my Mom just loves when I get a bath.  She pets me more and says that I smell nice.  This is much nicer than hearing her say, "You're so gross."  I don't know what that really means, but it doesn't seem as good as smelling nice.

Like I always say, if you can't change something, it's actually easier to make the best of it.  I can't change the fact that I'm going to get shipped off to Janet, the Groomer, so I just have to have a better attitude about the whole situation - I'm just going to go with the flow, and remember my secret way to smell good again.  I just have to make sure my Mom doesn't see me rolling around in the poop next time.  Somehow she always knows....

Time to check in with Gabi, the Dog!

If you've been wondering what I've been up to lately, you've come to the right place.  I have to count on my Mom to keep my blog up to date, but she's been slacking off these days.  Oh, well, it's looks like she's finally gotten her act together so I can give you a quick update about my life.

Of course, some things never change - I am always trying to mooch off of whoever is eating.

Tonight I was doing my little growl in the dining room which means I need to go outside to use my front yard bathroom - it's a good thing I don't care if anyone's watching me.  Any way, at least my Mom understands me.  So, I went out to take care of business.

Then I realized how happy and lucky I am to have such a great life that I did my circle dance in the front yard.  That's right, I ran around in circles really fast and growled with joy.  It was so much fun, especially with the snow!  You should try running in circles yourself, it's really awesome!

Like I always say, celebrate every happy moment you have - even little moments like getting to breathe in some fresh air and use the bathroom.  You are so lucky to be able to do these every day activities - just like me!  It's easier to celebrate than complain so do a happy dance today!  You'll feel happy right away!

Me and my Mom

I am one of those very lucky dogs who has a GREAT relationship with my Mom.  My Mom is actually one of my very favorite people because she takes me for walks in ALL kinds of weather, she feeds me dinner, she gives me water, AND she takes me to the dog park.  How lucky am I?  I am EXTREMELY lucky.

This picture shows me and my Mom after she came home.  As you know, I don't really like getting my picture taken, but look at how happy my Mom is.  Some times, I just need to go along with things.

Here's a picture of me standing on my Mom so I can mooch some food from her:

When I'm mooching, I'm hopeful and happy, just in case I get something to eat.  My Mom, on the other hand, just puts up with my mooching, especially when she's eating.  Some times, she just has to go along with things, too.

Like I always say, make sure to appreciate your Mom.  Tell her how much you love her and how happy you are to see her.  Since I can't use words like you, I have to show my feelings in other ways, but the most important thing is that I show her how I feel.  Make sure to appreciate your Mom today!
