Dog Park Days!

I have had a most exciting weekend!  I went to the dog park and had the BEST time.  I got to roll around in the snow like this:

I absolutely LOVE to roll in the snow.  Why?  There is a reason, and here it is.  Dogs pee and poop in the snow - you probably already know this.  Well, when I roll in the snow afterward, I get to smell delightful.  At least, I think I smell delightful - it's much better than smelling like dog shampoo as far as I'm concerned.

Also, that's my friend, Moe the Dog, in the picture.  He doesn't like to roll around in the snow.  He should really try it out because then he'll realize what he's missing.

Like I always say, get outside and enjoy the great outdoors.  There is always something new to see, do and smell.  There is nothing like fresh air and rolling around in the snow.  I do LOVE how my new and improved smell makes me seem like an all-natural dog.

I have a dream, too!

I've talked about this in my blog, but I want to revisit it today because it's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

As you can tell, I'm a BIG, black dog:

Now, my cousin, Lulu the Dog, weighs about 11 pounds while I'm at least 75 pounds.

Any way, let me get back to the BIG, black dog issue.  Actually, this applies to black cats as well.  In pet shelters, black dogs and cats are the LAST pets to get adopted.  The color of the pet is a BIG deciding factor when it comes to adopting a pet.

I remember when my family came to check me out at the animal hospital.  The lady who brought me in said to me, "OK, this is your BIG chance so don't mess it up."

I must have done something right that day because my family decided to adopt me, and the rest is history.

Like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. used to say, "I have a dream that one day" all black dogs and cats will be as readily adopted as all other dogs and cats.  Wouldn't it be amazing if people were able to look beyond the color of an animal's fur and see the goodness that lies within?

Show kindness to everyone today and every day, especially to a BIG, black dog like me.

Time to wear THAT shirt, AGAIN!

Where did I go wrong?  What did I do wrong?  It must have been something bad because look what I have to go through AGAIN!

I don't understand WHY I have to wear this shirt.  This is how they put it on me:

1.  Push my head in.

2.  Lift one of my paws and shove it in a sleeve.

3.  Lift the other paw and shove it in the other sleeve.

4.  Pull the shirt down towards my tail.

Then they smile and laugh at me.  At least, the shirt makes someone happy, and it's definitely NOT ME!

Like I always say, ask for help when necessary (check above picture).  Maybe someone will listen to you (in above picture, no one is listening).  If necessary, just make the best of it.  That's what I usually do.  Also, hope things get better tomorrow.  That's what I ALWAYS do.

Couches are so comfortable!

One thing I know for sure is that I LOVE MY COUCHES!

I especially LOVE having a pillow where I can rest my head - see above picture.  Don't I look relaxed?

Like I always say, make sure to rest every day wherever you are most comfortable.  Since I am absolutely not allowed on the beds in my house, I rest on the couches.  Actually, the couches are in a much better location, especially during the day when I have to monitor what's going on in my house.  Also, the couches are closer to the kitchen and the snack closet - that's where the food is.  As you also know, I LOVE to eat the MOST so I have to make sure to be well-positioned so I don't miss out on any eating opportunities.

Happy resting and happy snacking!

A Picture Is Worth 1,000 Words

As you know, I absolutely do not like to get my picture taken - not that this stops anyone from taking my picture.  I just have to learn to live with this.

Luckily, my Mom is going to reuse a picture so I don't have to be inconvenienced.  It's about time that I get some consideration around here!

Like I always say, every day is a great day, especially if you don't have to get your picture taken.  Who likes to look at themselves in pictures any way?

What does this picture say about me?  I'd like to hear what you think for a change since you must be bored of listening to me write about myself.  Even I'm getting bored - only until I get a treat, that is.  That's never boring.

Back to the Patriots!

Well, last night I got shoved back into that shirt again:

It wasn't that bad though because my brother, Andrew, was eating some pizza so I got to mooch while he was eating.  I can mooch even if I have to wear this annoying shirt.

Also, my Mom decided that I should be on the computer EVEN MORE.  So, if you still want MORE of Gabi the Dog, you can follow me here:

Patriots + Pizza = Perfection!

If you ask me, my Mom has gone off the deep end.

Like I always say, if you can't beat them, join them.  Everyone seems to LOVE being on the computer.  So, I say, "why not me?"  Now I just need MORE followers.  Most importantly, I want someone to get me my very own football shaped pizza to eat the next time I have to wear that embarrassing shirt.

Bath and Bows Again

Oh, well, it happened again.  Paula came to my house so she could bring me to Janet the Groomer.  Of course, I complained so much that Janet didn't trim my toe nails - at least, someone listens to me.  My Mom still doesn't listen though - as soon as I got home, she took a picture of me all dolled up with the bows:

All I'm thinking in this picture is:  What's the BIG deal already?  I get bows enough that it's not that special any more.

Like I always say, if something is bothering you, say what it is and move on.  You know that I don't like bows, but I'm going to get bows whether I like it or not.  Some times, it's just easier to go along with the situation, especially if you can't change it.

OK, now I feel better.  Plus I got rid of the bows - that's always a HUGE weight off my head.

Winner, winner! I could eat snow for dinner!

Check me out in the snow:

I LOVE being able to wander around in my yard, especially when there's snow.  I love to put my snout deep in the snow and see what I can find or smell.  While my Mom and Dad shovel, I play - much more fun for me, don't you think?

Like I always say, make the best of every situation.  Play in the snow when you can.  Make sure to wear a warm coat.  As you know, I am always wearing my fur coat so I stay warm in all types of weather.  Also, be careful if you do eat snow - I think you know why.
